I agree- kids are happy to do most anything if their parents are doing it with them. Sounds like fun, despite hard floors and bed wetting. Who sleeps well while camping anyways- not me- but I still like to do it! When are you hoping to be in your house?

Tipper, right on about what it takes to please kids -- taking time to do something simple, WITH THEM, means a lot more than a complicated or spendy outing.

What fun! And the great thing about kids-is they're usually easy to please-as long as you do something with them.

Mrs. D, you missed the part about the really hard floor. :-) And I neglected to mention how my three year old wet the bed in the middle of the night. But you're right, it was still lovely, those little wrinkles are just part of life, and for us this was a perfect night.

Heather, amen to that--it's always such a contrast, our plan and God's plan. and it's always neat to look back in hindsight and see the "why."

Becky, I have vague memories of this myself as a child. We lived in Tucson, and commuted back and forth to our ranch about an hour south of there for a few years while my dad built it, sleeping there on weekends. I remember sleeping in the open truck bed with the canopy of stars overhead. It's a little bit of full circle, only it's much, much nicer at this end of the circle.

I remember those days. We stayed all weekend at our new house sleeping on the floor. Getting up all hours to restock the fireplace. Good memories! Thanks for resurfacing them!
