I love finding old bones. And rocks. We owned 80 acres in SE Oregon for about 5 years (Lakeview area). It was gorgeous high desert land with a sunstone quarry nearby. We’re looking forward to visiting the dinosaur bone sites in CA on our next trip. And I’d love to mine for rubies. (I forget which state.)

It's all fun, even just sitting in the dirt like my 3 yr old. :-) <b>Mrs. Darling</b>, the bones are always around - and funny enough, the kids see them laying around all the time and still get excited. Makes them feel like archaeologists. It's very desert-like here and with animals like coyotes and even wild boar on the prowl, there's always a victim to be found later. <b>Jane</b>, that's my favorite part, too. Just seeing the kids out playing, digging, exploring does my heart good. <b>David</b>, this probably looks a little bit like Arizona to you. Even as an adult my favorite thing is to go on these adventures with the kids. Right now, we're looking for deer sheds. We find them in the spring, as the deer are shedding their horns.
