It’s a child’s playground at the ranch, and always a unique adventure around the corner. Here are thirteen snapshots of my kids enjoying the land around our ranch, and they would like to invite their friends to come and:
What a great TT! I love it! Great pictures, and there’s lots of things to be explored where you live! I would like to come and try some that fun stuff!
LOL!! Thx for visiting me too!
How is the weather there? We will be coming to Bend next Weekend (15th) for gymnastic meet.

Jientje, looks a little different than Belgium, yes?! It’s all fun, even just sitting in the dirt like my 3 yr old. :-)
Mrs. Darling, the bones are always around - and funny enough, the kids see them laying around all the time and still get excited. Makes them feel like archaeologists. It’s very desert-like here and with animals like coyotes and even wild boar on the prowl, there’s always a victim to be found later.
Jane, that’s my favorite part, too. Just seeing the kids out playing, digging, exploring does my heart good.
David, this probably looks a little bit like Arizona to you. Even as an adult my favorite thing is to go on these adventures with the kids. Right now, we’re looking for deer sheds. We find them in the spring, as the deer are shedding their horns. I’ll post a picture as soon as we find one.
WendyWings, it’s a perfect place for boys! My boys are definitely more interested in the bones than the girls; but don’t get me wrong, the girls love it too, but they tend to be more interested in chasing butterflies.
Chelle, thanks, it is a ton of fun - and incredibly educational!
Amy, the weather is cool, with breaks of sun. Next week should be nice. I’ll email you; maybe we can meet up somewhere.

It’s me. I found you and your wonderful pictures. You’ve inspired me, once again, to turn off the tv and take the kids outside. The rain started this afternoon… get some sun for me!
What a fairyland for children! Your family is blessed!
I love finding old bones. And rocks. We owned 80 acres in SE Oregon for about 5 years (Lakeview area). It was gorgeous high desert land with a sunstone quarry nearby. We’re looking forward to visiting the dinosaur bone sites in CA on our next trip. And I’d love to mine for rubies. (I forget which state.)
Blessings!

b.ritchie, Hi, friend!! Can’t wait to see you…we may be over your way for Easter, I’ll call you!
e-Mom, how fun, I didn’t know you once had land over this way. What is it about old bones and interesting stones? It’s just so interesting, a piece of the past, a story.
Wow! Memories come flooding back! I used to catch lizards at my grandma’s farm and investigate old bones and catch feathers and climb on juniper trees and swing on tire swings every day! I miss childhood now lol! :D
