Rob, the afghan raft sounds equally creative and exciting! When the inclement weather hits, indoor play must take on the creative elements of the outdoors somehow, and leave it to kids to figure out how to accomplish that!

Very cool - I like your kids’ creativity. Wheelbarrow Island puts sim games to shame ;-)

As kids, we did some of that play indoors: an afghan for a raft and stuffed animals for raft companions (at least until they fell overboard and needed to be rescued).

Karen, haha, it’s a small world. My kids have all had great fun with that boat. It was my 8 yr. old son’s when he was smaller, but all the kids share it now. It used to be a bathtub toy, but it’s been out at the property for a while and is too dirty for me to bring it back in the house! You know how grime can just get in those hard to reach places…

Mrs. Darling, I agree. :-) Dirt, sticks, stones and water are really the best “toys” of all. We do have plenty of other toys, but the kids always go back to the dirt.
