About the photo: I call it Wheelbarrow Island. I just sat back and watched my kids turn an old wheelbarrow into a magical little place, with captains lost at sea, mysterious creatures of the deep, and a luau back at the beach. This thrills me to no end.
How cute. Thats how my kids play. Who needs fancy toys! LOL

Karen, haha, it’s a small world. My kids have all had great fun with that boat. It was my 8 yr. old son’s when he was smaller, but all the kids share it now. It used to be a bathtub toy, but it’s been out at the property for a while and is too dirty for me to bring it back in the house! You know how grime can just get in those hard to reach places…
Mrs. Darling, I agree. :-) Dirt, sticks, stones and water are really the best “toys” of all. We do have plenty of other toys, but the kids always go back to the dirt.
Very cool - I like your kids’ creativity. Wheelbarrow Island puts sim games to shame ;-)
As kids, we did some of that play indoors: an afghan for a raft and stuffed animals for raft companions (at least until they fell overboard and needed to be rescued).
P.S. You’ve won (another) award! When you get a chance, come take a look here.

RecycleCindy, thanks, and I guess we both have good taste in templates. :-)
And Miles To Go: I just love the title of your blog - miles to go before I sleep. Thanks for the comment!
Rob, the afghan raft sounds equally creative and exciting! When the inclement weather hits, indoor play must take on the creative elements of the outdoors somehow, and leave it to kids to figure out how to accomplish that!
e-Mom, wow, thank you. So, I’m “interesting” - that could go either way!
He would get along so great with my boys! They love to do the same kind of play and plus my 2 year old is crazy about Bob the Builder. He loves his Bob shirt!

Jane, my little guy just sang the Bob the Builder song and really impressed his Daddy!

Catchy title!!! LIke it, and love the concept of a whole world within a wheelbarrow. Delightful. :~)
