The humble part is tough. Wasn’t that a word used to describe Wilbur the pig, I could be wrong as my memory is fading with each child. I don’t know why I mentioned that, but was thinking about humble and pig together as I read your post. Hope you found something else yummy for your dinner.

Jane, you’re absolutely right! How funny, I didn’t even catch the symbolism as I wrote this piece on ham. Wilbur was dubbed “humble” by Charlotte. We just had salad for dinner that night. :-)

Very good “human” label. I can think of a few people that would do well to live by that motto.
If the ham is fully cooked and canned why is the big 5 lb can refrigerated and the smaller 1 lb simmilar ones not?
What if you don’t refrigerate it?
